Vegepod kicked off December with a celebratory start at the Nursery and Garden NSW and ACT (NGINA) Industry Awards. Hosted by ABC Presenter, Simon Marnie, the Awards recognised wholesale/production nurseries, retail nurseries, allied suppliers, apprentices and the next generation of industry leaders from across NSW and the ACT for being the top of their fields! We’ve always worked very hard with our store partners and invest in the network as an extension of our own showroom.

According to the judges, Vegepod has developed a unique product with innovative features that delivers value to their identified customer segment. Vegepod product development used design thinking and empathy maps, thus challenging assumptions to define the end consumers' needs. Vegepod offer in-store displays and is a NDIS registered supplier, conducts interviews, is active in social media, and shows at local and international shows. This engagement flows through to their workplace, with business development and personal growth of their team being top business priorities. Vegepod should be congratulated for researching the importance of product performance and customising their products so individuals can enjoy gardening regardless of their age or ability.
We are big fans of the MC on the night - ABC radio’s stalwart and legend for gardening and provedores - Simon Marnie. He was, of course, supremely articulate, well-informed and expressive all night, except for unexpected stuttering throughout our announcement. He stopped, apologised and said “Sorry! I can’t stop thinking about my purchase of a Vegepod last week!”.

We began our 11 year journey living out the back of our vans, cold-calling into the garden centres across the nation, to introduce our backyard invention. Our thanks goes right out to all our wonderful independent stockists, Vegepod reps, NGINA, NGIC and NGIV. They are a major component of our public accessibility, an extension of our showroom and we consider them a part of our family to make things work and grow as they have.
