The holiday season is upon us and we can't think of a better gift than receiving the ABA's Community Contributions Award and generous airing on A Current Affair!
The Australian Business Awards are an annual awards program that recognises organisations demonstrating core business values such as innovation, customer satisfaction, sustainability and technology. This award marks Vegepod’s third ABA, adding to previous years' recognition for Product Innovation and Product Excellence.
The Community Contributions Award represents organisations that “implement initiatives that have a positive impact on the community and generate outcomes that have a long-term benefit.” The ABA stated that “Vegepod has made the betterment of community and gardening accessibility a priority, highlighted by its stances and initiatives with needy and vulnerable community groups including people with extra needs, elder care, community housing, schools, hospices, mental health, correctional services and remote and Indigenous health. Vegepod remains a foundational major sponsor of Therapeutic Horticulture Australia and is on a mission to ensure everyone can enjoy edible garden around the world."
Simon Holloway, co-owner of Vegepod shares “An award for community contributions is probably more important than any other award we receive. We believe a company must be a regarded as a community ‘citizen’ just like any individual person, so to be recognised for contributions to society is a very proud achievement.”
