This year Vegepod is honoured to be invited as a guest by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), to the 2018 Chelsea Flower Show! It’s an extremely prestigious event held in Chelsea, London and this year we’ll be holding an educational exhibit explaining how Vegepod raised garden beds are driving the global 'urban farming' revolution in the famed Discovery Hall.
What’s the History of the Chelsea Flower Show?
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is the most famous flower and landscape garden show in the world. With a history dating back to 1912, the show is held every year from May 22 to 27.

Attended by over 157,000 visitors, the show features garden exhibits and stands displaying everything from art installations to important horticultural trends and new plant varieties. A huge occasion, famous exhibits you may have seen in the past include Phillip Johnson’s Remembrance Day crochet poppies, or James May’s Paradise in Plasticine garden.

Why Was Vegepod Invited?
The RHS Committee requested Vegepod exhibit because they wanted to promote awareness and education about the possibility of urban and suburban gardening projects.
Vegepod's work on educating the gardening community about urban farming, the environment, and change for good, and our reputation as a team committed to unrivaled raised garden beds for urban farmers, really gave us the edge.
Needless to say, successes in 2017 including our performance on Shark Tank Australia, our feature in Angus Stewart’s new book Grow Your Own, and our ABA awards for Product Design and Product Innovation also helped.
What Will Vegepod’s Exhibition Look Like?
People regularly spend over $20,000 on display stands when invited to the Chelsea show. However, for Vegepod, we wanted to keep our focus on how simple and easy urban gardening could be. That’s why we created a ‘no-muss, no fuss’ pop-up stand (concept pictured above).
We wanted 'working Vegepods’ to do all the talking and not have the solution and topics be clouded by extravagant landscape displays. RHS agreed and have us coming along as so!

The stand spans 9 by 3 metres and is interactive - you can walk through the ‘yard' and touch the raised garden beds. Six Vegepods will be on display noting the issues, information and scenarios around urban farming and how Vegepods are relevant.
Although we know it won’t be the flashiest exhibit at the garden show, we’re extremely excited and humbled to bring our stand and educate participants at the Chelsea show.
Feel like a holiday? Come on over to meet us at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show! If you want to know more about Vegepod’s upcoming events and exhibitions and where you can meet us, click over to our ‘Meet Us’ page to discover our latest dates.
Vegepod would like to thank Angus Stewart for his urban farming advice and allowing us to use his book as our constant guide, and likewise Dr Kate Neale for her support and ideas.
