Spring Clean Your Vegepod: Ready for a Fresh Start!

Spring will be here before you know it – so now is the perfect time to give your Vegepod the TLC it deserves and give your garden oasis a little sprucing up. But fear not, fellow gardeners, as we've got all the tips and tricks you need to make your Vegepod look as good as new for the sunny days ahead!

Here are our Top tips on how to spring clean your Vegepod:

Cleaning the Canopy

Remove the canopy: Take the Vegepod canopy off the base by pulling it out of the hinge clips and placing it on the ground away from the plants and soil.

Algae eradication: Spray the canopy with white vinegar diluted in water (1 part vinegar to 2 parts cold water) and let it sit for approximately 15 minutes to kill any algae.

Neutralise and clean: Spray the canopy with a mix of dishwashing liquid and water to neutralise the vinegar and help clean the mesh.

Rinse and dry: Give it a gentle water blast and allow it to dry completely.

Deep clean option: Another option is to remove the mesh from the frame by undoing the Velcro around the bottom and lifting it off. Soak, clean, and rinse the mesh, then put it back on the frame. Some of our customers have successfully used products like Wet & Forget and 30 Seconds, followed by a gentle water blast.

Avoid shrinkage: Always use cold water to clean the mesh to avoid any chance of shrinkage.

Consider replacement mesh: If your Vegepod is more than a few years old or you want it to look brand new again, consider purchasing a replacement mesh. Available on the Vegepod website, these products range from $25 to $45 depending on the size.

Revitalising the Black Sides and Stand or Trolley

Use LanoTec Spray on the black sides of the Vegepod: Try LanoTec spray, a natural lanolin product available from most hardware stores. Simply spray on and wipe down the black plastic sides of your Vegepod with LanoTec and a cloth for a clean and refreshed look.

Clean the stand or trolley: You can also use LanoTec to clean your Vegepod stand or trolley, so it looks shiny and new again.

Take protective measures: If you live near the ocean and close to salt air, regularly spray and wipe down the Vegepod stands or trolley. The steel is galvanised and powder-coated, but protective sprays will provide an extra barrier and increase the lifespan of your garden.
